Your annual payroll bill will determine how much you, as an employer, are required to contribute towards Apprenticeship training costs.

If you have a payroll bill of over £3 million, you will have to fund the Apprenticeship training costs by paying the Apprenticeship Levy. You can use us directly through the Digital Apprenticeship Service!

Apprenticeship training costs are paid through your Digital Apprenticeship Service digital account.

Once you are ready to register your Apprentice(s), please contact us for provider details.

If you have a payroll bill of under £3 million, you will have to contribute 5% of the Apprenticeship training costs, while the Government pays the remaining 95%.

If you have less than 50 employees and, your Apprentice is aged 16-18, as well as having a payroll of under £3 million, the Government will pay 100% of the Apprenticeship training costs.

Levy Paying Employers

Are you a Levy paying employer?
From May 2018, you can transfer your unused Levy funds to one other Levy or Non-Levy employer. The funding transferred must be for new starts completing a Standard, and not a Framework.
