Apprentices Supporting Charities
We are always proud of our Apprentices achievements, and love to hear their good news stories outside of their Apprenticeship programmes! Stuart Lowe, who is currently completing his ILM Management Level 3 qualification, and our very own Apprentice, Mel, both supported charities last year.
Stuart enjoys cycling in his spare time. In June, Stu and his brother Mike completed a 150 mile coast to coast bike ride in just 1 day! The stunning 150-mile road ride was from the mountainous Western Lake District, through the Yorkshire Dales, across the flat Vale of York and finally the Northern Valleys of North York Moors, finishing by the sea in Whitby. This route is usually cycled over 4 or 5 days! Their cycling time was an amazing 12 hrs 45 mins, and they raised over £1,000 for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity. What a fantastic achievement!

Our Apprentice, Mel, has a passion for cake decorating and in September she attended a Cake Off held by The Rural Coffee Caravan. The Rural Coffee Caravan are a charity that delivers information and friendship throughout Suffolk by bringing people together in a relaxed, social atmosphere to chat and get to know each other better. Mel created an edible version of their caravan for her entry! It was quite an emotional time as their caravan had recently been stolen, and the cake looked like the stolen van, however Ruth from the Rural Coffee Caravan was delighted. Mel donated the cake to Ruth, which then went on tour to villages they were visiting where it was shared with the communities.
